Makathon Training

As part of our ongoing commitment to making Scouting inclusive and accessible to all 16 volunteers undertook a taster session for Makaton this week supported by a Makaton charity certified trainer, Debbie.
Makaton uses speech with signs (gestures) and symbols (pictures) to help people communicate who have limited speech.
Feedback from the session was really positive and we all came away having learnt some new skills to support our young people with additional needs.
