Essex International Jamboree
2 May 2023
We are pleased to now be able to share more information about next years Essex International Jamboree open to Scouts and Explorers.
A Jamboree is a camping experience like no other, it brings together 10,000 local, national and international Scouts and Guides for a week of challenge, adventure and fun. During the week, they take part in a wide range of activities and in the evenings there are lots of amazing things to take part in.
Being part of a Jamboree is an unforgettable experience, not only because of the array of activities, but also the opportunity to make new friends from all over the world, learn new skills and take on new challenges.
You can find out more about the Essex International Jamboree at www.eij.org.uk as well as joining the conversation on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
This event is run by EIJ and a contingent of participants and leaders from Basingstoke East will be attending as a unit. The cost of this event is £495 per participant which includes travel, the event fee, catering and a pre-jamboree event. You will have received an event on OSM to accept which contains the details for the parents. We would please ask you to share this with all your Scouts & Explorers even if you are not sending any leaders to the event, this is a jamboree and inline with most Scout jamborees the unit will be made up of volunteers and young people from various groups.
Spaces are limited, so we need to ensure we have numbers by 21st May. Deposit payment is due by 15th June and full balance will be by the 10th February. We never want cost to be a barrier to anyone attending any event. If finance may be an issue, please encourage parents to talk to their Section Leader or email events@bescouts.org.uk to discuss in confidence.
We are also now open to applications for Adult Volunteers to join the unit leadership team. If you are interested in attending the event as a volunteer please complete this application form. Any questions please feel free to drop an email to events@bescouts.org.uk
