Welcome Richard Whitechurch!

We are pleased to announce the Richard Whitechurch has come on board to help support the District Cub Team as a District Cub Leader.

Please see a short introduction from Richard below…

 

Having been in scouting for many years as a child (in Cubs and Scouts with 7th Basingstoke and then Venture Scouts with Pegasus Venture Scouts), I started to get involved again when my eldest child was in Cubs at 8th Basingstoke. Helping out at first as an occasional helper.

Shortly after starting as a helper the leaders left and I started as ACSL with 8th Basingstoke, spending the first term getting re-acquainted with Scouting and how things had changed over the many years of my absence. It was in this term I managed to move 8th Basingstoke Cubs over from paper records to using OSM.

After a term as ACSL I took over as CSL and 9 years later, after at least 6 Cubs District Camps, skills days and an unnumbered number of Cubs passing through 8th Basingstoke, I am still here looking after the Cubs, Young Leaders and the leadership team at 8th Basingstoke.

I am really looking forward to being part of the District Team to help new groups and leaders starting in Basingstoke East as well as District Cubs events coming up.
