We’re looking for new trustees!

16 February 2025

We are actively seeking dedicated individuals to join our Board of Trustees. This volunteer role is pivotal in ensuring that the organisation continues to provide exceptional experiences for young people, operating safely and in line with legal requirements.

Role of a Trustee

Trustees collaborate to oversee the strategic direction and governance of the Scouts. Their responsibilities include supporting leaders in delivering a dynamic programme, ensuring compliance with safety and legal standards, and contributing to the overall vision of the organisation. It’s an opportunity to develop new skills, forge friendships, and make a meaningful impact on the community.

Open Selection Process

Committed to transparency, Basingstoke East District Scout Council has implemented an open selection process for recruiting trustees. This involves advertising vacancies publicly and following a structured application and nomination procedure. Details of the recruitment policy are available upon request by emailing chair@bescouts.org.uk.
