Group Lead Volunteer Update (1st Chineham)

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Gibbons as Group Lead Volunteer (GLV / GSL), at 1st Chineham Scout Group.

Tim’s got a wealth of Scouting Experience having been part of 1st Chineham Scout Group for many years, and also holding roles in Tadley in Basingstoke West, Phoenix (Explorers), supporting County Scout events and part of the District team as ADC Scouts and previously a Training Advisor.

We’re also pleased to announce that Andy Clarke will be taking the reins of Akela for Wednesday Cubs from May half-term to allow Tim the time to focus on this new role.

We look forward to working with Tim over the coming years in his new role of Group Lead Volunteer, and him continuing to support all the leaders which make Chineham a success.

Hi, my name is Tim Gibbons. I have been an adult volunteer in scouting since 2007 having previously been in the movement as a cub more years ago than I care to mention. I came back to scouting when my eldest child was a Beaver, and both of my children are now in volunteer positions in Scouting.

As a Profession, I am a Senior Asset Operations Manager for a large local business which offers me a complex challenge on a regular basis. I am Line Manager for a Team of 6 individuals of varying grades.

I have volunteered over the years for all sections of Scout’s apart from Squirrels so have a good understanding of the Programme across the sections.

I am very much looking forward to working with all of the team at 1st Chineham to support the great programme that is already supplied by this Scout Group.
