Gilwell Reunion 2024

14 May 2024

Gilwell Reunion returns for 2024 and due to the success of our grant trial last year, we are pleased to be able to offer this once more.

From Friday 30 August  to Sunday 1st September 2024, Gilwell Park will come alive with an incredible programme of activities, workshops and entertainment. Learn new skills that will stay with you for life, find inspiring programme ideas and seek new challenges.

But Reunion is more than just a weekend of programme support. It’s also the chance to connect with like-minded Scouts, make new friends and reminisce with old ones.

Tickets for reunion are on sale now and can be purchased here.

Who is eligible for grant?

To be eligible to claim this grant towards the event, the attendee must have a membership role dated at least 3 months before the date of the event. A membership role is defined by the roles table within POR section 16 as minimum membership. This means roles such as occasional helpers are not eligible. That role must be within Basingstoke East District or one of it’s groups. All getting started training, mandatory ongoing learning and disclosures should be completed at the time of application.

How much is the grant?

Uptake on this grant can change yearly and we want all to be able to have a fair chance at the available money. We will therefore split the pot between all eligible applicants to cover an equal percentage of their ticket cost up to a maximum of 50%. This years total pot has been set by the District Trustee Board at £400

Example 1:

A £400 budget has been put aside and the ticket cost is £40 per attendee. 15 people have applied for the grant. In this case we will pay the full available 50% per ticket so £20 per applicant.

Example 2:

A £400 budget has been put aside and the ticket cost is £40 per attendee. 30 people have applied for the grant. In this case we would not have enough budget to cover the full grant for all applicants but would equally split the pot and pay 33% per ticket, £13.20 in this case which would total £396 for all applicants.

Discounted Tickets

Some members may be eligible for discounted tickets, for example Network members. In these cases you should purchase your discounted ticket. The grant will be paid at the same percentage as other applicants.

Can multiple grants be used?

You can use this in conjunction with other grants or contributions, for example your group may also contribute but you must not claim more than the cost of your total ticket value  across various grants.

What can the grant be used for?

This grant is towards the cost of Reunion tickets only. The event ticket usually includes entrance and camping. The grant can not be used towards fuel, meals or other accommodation options.

Conditions of the grant

  • Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
