Think big. Dream wild. Act together

9 August 2021

We have an amazing opportunity for you.

Hampshire Scouts have been awarded 144 places for Scouts and Explorers at the next World Scout Jamboree in South Korea in 2023. This is the highest number of spaces that Hampshire has ever been awarded.

This is a fantastic opportunity for those born between 22nd July 2005 and 31st July 2009 to represent Hampshire Scouts at this World Scout event, over a 3 week period in the summer of 2023. The World Scout Jamboree is a camp for 40,000 people from across the whole world, where the scouts can make new friends, learn about each other and undertake some amazing activities and adventures. It is truly how the world should be, working together, being friends together.

The Hampshire places are open to ALL of the correct age. To help overcome financial inclusion, a County Grant Fund has been established that can provide grants of up to 50% where needed. Yes, you will need to do some fund raising, but, there shouldn’t be any reason why ANYBODY can’t apply.

The Jamboree is only held every 4 years, and Scouts and Explorers only get one chance to go as a participant, so please take a look at all of the information on the website and we strongly urge you to consider applying.

There is also a sister Expedition called Project 23. All those that apply to the World Scout Jamboree, and are not selected, will be offered a place on Project 23, which is a similar level expedition spending 3 weeks in Europe, having loads of fun and adventure. Project 23 also has a financial grant support package as well.

The closing deadline for applications is 10pm on 14th August, and there are several methods of applying, but for all of these, you need to go to the website first at https://international.hampshirescouts.org.uk/2021/07/01/hampshire-25-wsj/

What have you got to lose? Apply, and you may be selected for the Jamboree. Apply and if you are not selected, you will be offered a place on Project 23. Both will be fantastic International expeditions.
