Introducing our ADC Inclusion

30 September 2021

We are really excited to welcome Georgina into our new role of Assistant District Commissioner for Inclusion. Georgina brings a wealth of knowledge around Diversity and Inclusion and we are really looking forward to working with her.

We are pleased to include a short introduction from Georgina below.

Hello Basingstoke East,

My name is Georgina and I am excited to be joining the District in the new role of Assistant District Commissioner for Inclusion. By day I work for the NHS driving cultural change with a focus on creating safe spaces for people to speak up. In my spare time you will find me out and about in the forest.
I believe the Scout movement creates the perfect opportunity to create safe and trusting environments for young people to talk about their feelings and importantly feel valued and included.

In line with the Scout’s vision of being more inclusive I will be working with the District to drive increased awareness and positive and impactful action.
I am new to Scouting and Basingstoke (having only recently moved here!) so I can’t wait to get to know the local community and learn from your wealth of Scouting experience.

If you have any ideas you wish to share, please do get in touch at Georgina.charlton@bescouts.org.uk

Look forward to meeting you soon
Georgina Charlton (she/her)
Assistant District Commissioner (Inclusion)
